Orr Field replacing natural grass surface with synthetic turf - The Avery Journal-Times

The playing surface of Orr Field on the campus of Cloudland High School is undergoing a makeover this summer, as the natural grass surface is being replaced with an synthetic turf surface. Work began on the project in recent weeks, as Cloudland opens its football schedule with five consecutive road games before returning to Roan Mountain for its home opener on Friday, Oct. 3, to host Cosby in conference play. CHS will then host three of its final four regular season contests at Orr Field, culminating with a Halloween evening game against Hampton.
